Shawn Levy to direct the big screen version of video game ‘Uncharted’

Shawn Levy (Night At The Museum) will direct the movie version of the hit video game series Uncharted. Deadline reports that the project is high on the priorities over at Sony Pictures who are backing the adaptation.

The A-Team, NARC and upcoming Bad Boys 3 director Joe Carnahan has written the screenplay for the film which revolves around the adventures of treasure hunter Nathan Drake.

Uncharted is an action-adventure third-person shooter platform video game series developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for PlayStation consoles. There are no less than seven Uncharted titles spread across those Playstation consoles.

Levy’s last work was on the Netflix TV series Stranger Things, and he is expected to direct at least a couple of episodes in the anticipated second season.
