A little over a week ago, director Tim Miller jumped ship from the Deadpool sequel over ‘creative differences’. Well, now he has lined-up another film to take on – a live action/ CGI hybrid based on the video game classic Sonic The Hedgehog.
Sony Pictures and Marza Animation Planet are bringing the Sega hit gaming franchise to the silver screen for the first time, which Neal H. Moritz (the Fast and Furious franchise) is producing. Miller is merely developing the project with collaborator Jeff Fowler making his directorial debut.
The Sega game has sold more than 350 million copies after first debuting back in 1991. It centered on ‘Sonic and his friends, such as Tails and Knuckles, who run around collecting items and points as they attempt to foil the global domination plans of Doctor Eggman Robotnik.’
More news on the Sonic The Hedgehog movie as it comes in.
