Coming to cinemas on 27th January is an absolutely wonderful animated feature called Sing. The animation, from Illumination Studios, the folks who brought us Despicable Me and Minions, features the voices of Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Seth MacFarlane, Scarlett Johansson, John C. Reilly, Taron Egerton and Tori Kelly, and we have a brand new trailer as well as some new images from the film to share with you.
We saw Sing at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this year and absolutely fell in love with it (read the review here). Here’s the plot.
Set in a world like ours but entirely inhabited by animals, Sing stars Buster Moon (McConaughey), a dapper Koala who presides over a once-grand theatre that has fallen on hard times. Buster is an eternal optimist—okay, maybe a bit of a scoundrel—who loves his theatre above all and will do anything to preserve it. Now facing the crumbling of his life’s ambition, he has one final chance to restore his fading jewel to its former glory by producing the world’s greatest singing competition.
Sing is directed by Garth Jennings, who has, in the past, brought us the likes of Son Of Rambow and the big-screen adaptation of The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy.
