Ashley Greene is to take the lead role in a modern update of the Charles Dickens classic novel OLIVER TWIST. Using the title of OLIVIA TWISTED, producer Michael DeLuca will team with Boss Media for a different spin on tale of the orphan who goes from rags to riches.
The project was announced at the Toronto Film Festival where Greene and producer DeLuca are premiering their latest movie, the comedy BUTTER.
This latest attempt using Dickens characters will see Greene headline as Olivia, who along with her trusted highly-trained street thieves accept a kidnapping job. The plan backfires when they find themselves between two warring factions in a turf war. The plot appears that it has more in common with Walter Hill’s 1979 classic THE WARRIORS than OLIVER TWIST but we shall find out more once production starts.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
