You can watch the Westworld season finale trailer below.
The Westworld season finale trailer has been released by HBO ahead of its premiere Stateside on December 4th. Evan Rachel Wood, Anthony Hopkins, James Marsden, Ed Harris and Thandie Newton feature in the current flagship series on the cable channel, which also screens on Sky Atlantic in the United Kingdom.
The final episode of the sci-fi drama is called “The Bicameral Mind,” and is directed by series showrunner Jonathan Nolan.
The film season, which is reported to have cost $100 million, has already has a second season confirmed, which should air on the network and around the world in late 2017/ early 2018.
Westworld is based on the 1973 film by Michael Crichton, and was initially commissioned for ten episodes, but following a strong first season with exceptional ratings rivalling the likes of other HBO successes like True Detective and Game Of Thrones, the network gave the go-ahead to another run.
If you’re not too familiar with the plot, here’s the official low-down.
Westworld isn’t your typical amusement park. Intended for rich vacationers, the futuristic park — which is looked after by robotic “hosts” — allows its visitors to live out their fantasies through artificial consciousness. No matter how illicit the fantasy may be, there are no consequences for the park’s guests, allowing for any wish to be indulged. “Westworld” — which is based on the 1973 Michael Crichton movie of the same name — features an all-star cast that includes Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins and Golden Globe winner Ed Harris.
