Lin-Manuel Miranda set for Sony Pictures Animation, ‘Vivo’

Deadline are reporting that Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton) is set to make a brand new feature animation over at Sony Pictures Animation. The film is titled Vivo and will feature no less than 11 original songs from the hugely talented Miranda.

The trade blog says that Quiara Alegría Hudes, (In The Heights), is writing the script, while The Croods helmer Kirk De Micco is to direct.

Not much is known about the feature, other than that it has a release date already set for a December 18, 2020, so a little ways off.

Miranda’s songs were recently heard in the superb Moana, and he is next to start work on Mary Poppins Returns, where he plays the character of Jack. That film is set for release on Christmas Day, 2018.
