Carell No Longer Starring In The Muppets

THE MUPPETS may be featuring a lot of celebrity cameos, but CRAZY, STUPID, LOVE star Steve Carell won’t be joining them. The actor has had to pull out of the project due to scheduling conflicts and according to Moviehole, seemed ‘saddened’ by the situation. Well, if we lost our chance to meet Kermit we’d be saddened too.

“It was discussed… I talked to them… but it didn’t work out, I wasn’t able to do it.” the actor commented.

The scene would have featured THE OFFICE alum dining at Mr. Chow’s restaurant with several other celebrity friends, where they are served a portion of the very-much-alive Pepe the King Prawn.

The scene may still feature in the upcoming release, and the list of celebrity cameos seems never ending. Zach Galifianakis, Alan Arkin, Wanda Sykes, Billy Crystal, Kathy Griffin, Ricky Gervais, Emily Blunt, Mickey Rooney, Mila Kunis, Dave Grohl, John Krasinski, Whoopi Goldberg will all appear in some capacity. You can read the full list of confirmed, rumoured and debunked cameos here.

THE MUPPETS is directed by James Bobin and stars Jason Segal, Amy Adams, and… the cast of The Muppets. It bursts into UK cinemas 17th February 2012.
