The Writers Guild of America awards nominations have been announced, and it looks like quite an open field. In the category for original screenplay, La La Land, Hell Or High Water, Manchester By The Sea, Loving, and Moonlight.
The adapted category is the superb Arrival, Fences, Hidden Figures, Nocturnal Animals are up against the surprise entry of Deadpool, while Author: The JT Leroy Story, Zero Days and Command and Control are competing in the documentary screenplay category.
The awards are so important as the winners usually go on to bag the Oscar in the same category, like last year’s two biggies, Spotlight and The Big Short.
