It’s no secret that Hollywood stars love their cars. They love to collect them, drive them and ride around in them and there are more than a few celebrities that have cars that any one of us would die to test drive. Patrick Dempsey
Over the years, Patrick Dempsey has managed to put together an impressive collection of cars that anyone would be jealous of. The race-car-driving actor has owned a silver Mercedes-Benz SLS Gullwing, a 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SE, a black Porsche Gt3RS and a 1963 Porsche 356. Amongst his collection, however, there seems to be one car that he particularly favours and that is his turquoise 1972 Jaguar E Type V-12 convertible. This car is gorgeous and the performance isn’t too bad, either. It can hit 0-60mph in 7 and a half seconds and has a maximum speed of 135 mph. Not bad considering it’s vintage, but the real reason Dempsey loves this car is because it’s so easy to drive (and because anyone that sits behind the steering wheel automatically becomes a hundred times more cool). The Jaguar E Type is one of the world’s most iconic sports cars and anyone would be lucky to give it a test drive.
Jason Statham
Both on screen and off screen, Jason Statham is nothing if not cool and his car of choice is decent proof of that. Much like his character in the Transporter films, Jason Statham has a serious love of cars and an appreciation for good quality automobiles, which is why his preferred vehicle is an orange Lamborghini Murcielago, which is the same car that he drove in Transporter 2, although character Frank Martin preferred a black roadster. This Italian supercar is a work of art. It has a top speed of 206 mph and can reach 0-60 mph in just under 4 seconds. It’s sleek, fast, thrilling to drive and a lot more than just easy on the eyes. If you’ve ever wanted a wild stallion of a car then Jason Statham’s is the one to dream about.
Samuel L Jackson
Cool character and all around super swell guy Samuel L Jackson has the right idea when it comes to cars. His philosophy when it comes to cars is that luxury is paramount. The Maybach 57 S isn’t particularly fast or challenging to drive, bit it has practically everything a passenger needs and Mr Jackson even went a step further to add more customisations. Inside his beast of a vehicle you’ll find a mini fridge, folding tables, champagne flutes, silver tumblers, 21 speakers, a DVD player, a mini fridge and an air conditioning system powerful enough to keep the ice in your scotch from melting. From a driver’s point of view, the Maybach is a decent car, but from a passenger’s point of view this car is absolute heaven. Cruising around Hollywood in a car like this will show you what a life of stardom is really like.
While some of us might never be able to own these cars, that doesn’t mean that we don’t love the humble cars we have. If you love your car then no one can say that another car is better and if you love your car you should take good care of it by properly insuring it.
