The 2017 Producers Guild of America awards were announced over the weekend, and the big winners on Saturday night ended up being the stunning La La Land, which is wiping the floor at most awards ceremonies this year, and TV shows American Crime Story: The People V O.J. Simpson and Netflix’s Stranger Things.
La La Land picked up the top award on the night, The Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures, making the Best Picture Oscar almost a cert now. Zootopia (Zootropolis) bagged the The Award for Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures, while ‘The People V O.J.’ received The David L. Wolper Award for Outstanding Producer of Long-Form Television, and the similarly themed O.J.: Made In America picked up The Award for Outstanding Producer of Documentary Theatrical Motion Pictures. Stranger Things received The Norman Felton Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television, Drama.
