Shooting has started on the stand-alone Han Solo movie

Filmmaker Chris Miller has indicated that shooting has officially started on the stand-alone Han Solo movie. The co-director indicted the news via his Twitter account on Monday.

Along with the tweet came an image and, you’ve guessed it, it doesn’t give a great deal away. What it does reveal though is a working title for the film, which is simply ‘Red Cup’, referring to the knick name of the lead character.

Scheduled for release in 2018, the film sees Alden Ehrenreich (Hail Caesar!) as Solo, with Woody Harrelson as his mentor, Donald Glover (Atlanta) as Lando Calrissian, and Emilia Clarke in a role TBA.

Miller co-directs with partner Phil Lord. The movie still has a May 25th 2018 release slot pencilled in.

We’ll bring you more as it comes our way.
