FIRST LOOK: ‘Twin Peaks’ revival portraits

The most mystery-laden TV revival ever just got a little less mysterious. EW has unveiled three covers for their latest issue, which together form a giant, ‘Last Supper’-style portrait of the Twin Peaks cast, twenty-five years later.

We’ve already seen Kyle MacLachlan suited and booted as Special Agent Dale Cooper care of the recent teaser. But this gives us a proper reintroduction to the characters fans know and love. First up is arguably the “money shot”…

From left to right, we have Sheryl Lee (Laura Palmer), David Lynch (co-creator/Gordon Cole), MacLachlan and Sherilyn Fenn (Audrey Horne).

The next shot takes us back to the Double R Diner with Mädchen Amick (Shelley Johnson), Dana Ashbrook (Bobby Briggs) and Peggy Lipton (Norma Jennings).

Last but not least are an owl (if you’re not familiar with the show it looks weird, but that’s the idea), Wendy Robie (Nadine Hurley), Everett McGill (Big Ed Hurley) and James Marshall (James Hurley).

EW aren’t releasing the issue till Friday but have “Peakies” like me salivating over its contents. Delights promised include the sight of FBI Agent and transvestite Denise Bryson (David Duchovny) a quarter of a century on and a tentative delve into the new storyline. Also featured on the site is a video which reunites the cast.

The preview should do nicely until Lynch and Mark Frost‘s 18-part series is unveiled on May 21st, via Showtime.

UPDATE: More cast photos have landed! Check out new recruit Jake Wardle (alongside James Marshall and David Lynch), as well as a fetching David Duchovny and the late Miguel Ferrer as Albert Rosenfield
