There’s nothing more certain that the fact that the gaming world is getting huge growth at the moment, and even thought the movie and television industry is changing in regards to how we consume, we are still seeing TV and film properties licensed for new games.
A huge area for growth is the mobile gaming business. If you take one of this week’s big movie releases as an example, the Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne-led sci-fi movie Valerian and the City Of A Thousand Planets, which is now playing, you can see after a quick Google search that there is a tie-in game that you can play online and on your mobile device. Of course, this is nothing new. Gaming websites, casino sites like Schmitts Live Casino and even mobile apps are delving into the world of film and television to license titles to try and attract players from the entertainment world.
Taking a further look into this new world, you can see that there are games available for the likes of Passengers, the sci-fi movie starring Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt, which was released at the end of 2016, Cars, the Disney movie that is enjoying a third movie being released into cinemas in the last couple of weeks, and even Pirates Of The Caribbean, who continues to draw in crowds from a solid fan base (after no less than five movies being released and that original Disneyland ride still going after many decades at the famous parks around the world).
Even classic movies are being introduced. We’ve seen games based on the 1980s gangster movie Scarface, and even one based around the 1993 Steven Spielberg-directed blockbuster Jurassic Park.
TV is also not being left out. The hottest show on TV right now is Game Of Thrones, which is now in its seventh series with one more left to be aired in 2018. The show has gone from strength to strength and the games that are available online and on mobile are equally as popular. Another hot property, The Big Bang Theory, which is in its eleventh season, also has an online game.
So, we thing you’ll agree that the mobile gaming industry will continue to look towards the entertainment world for inspiration and pull big names from it to include in the latest games. The formula is working, so why change it?
