Kevin Spacey To Be Replaced By Christopher Plummer In ‘All The Money In The World’

In a somewhat unprecedented move, Ridley Scott is set to reshoot scenes from his upcoming movie All The Money In The World, replacing actor Kevin Spacey with Christopher Plummer as John Paul Getty. This comes following sexual assault and harassment allegations against Spacey. The film’s release date of December 22nd Stateside is expected to be met with new scenes shot over the coming weeks. The news of comes after Netflix had said that they would also not be involved with any further production of House of Cards that includes Kevin Spacey. All The Money In The World Kevin Spacey Exit – Will Be Replaced By Christopher Plummer

All The Money In The World follows the kidnapping of 16-year-old John Paul Getty III (Charlie Plummer) and the desperate attempt by his devoted mother Gail (Michelle Williams) to convince his billionaire grandfather (Kevin Spacey) to pay the ransom. When Getty Sr. refuses, Gail attempts to sway him as her son’s captors become increasingly volatile and brutal. With her son’s life in the balance, Gail and Getty’s advisor (Mark Wahlberg) become unlikely allies in the race against time that ultimately reveals the true and lasting value of love over money.

Kevin Spacey apparently only worked for just ten days on the film, but key actors, including Mark Wahlberg, are reportedly needed to complete the reshoots.

The film is written by David Scarpa (The Day the Earth Stood Still, The Last Castle),  based on the book by John Pearson. The film currently has a release date set for January 5th in the UK.
