James Franco To Join The Superhero-verse With ‘Multiple Man’ Movie

Following his outstanding work in front and behind the camera in the HBO TV series The Deuce and the superb The Disaster Artist, James Franco may be set to become a superhero in Multiple Man, which is being developed over at 20th Century Fox.

Wonder Woman co-writer Allan Heinberg is writing the script for the planned movie, while Franco will join X-Men producer Simon Kinberg to produce.

Deadline reports the news of the teaming and described the character, who is part of the X-Men universe, in more detail.

Multiple Man is Jamie Madrox, who, in the comics, conveyed his cloning powers at birth, when a second, identical version of him appeared after the doctor slapped the infant to get him to breathe. His father, a worker at the Los Alamos Nuclear Research Center, moved his family to a remote farm where his son — fitted with a special suit to control his powers designed by X-Men patriarch Professor Xavier — lived quietly until the suit malfunctioned and he began to go crazy. His cloning abilities drove Madrox to have various collisions and collaborations with both the X-Men and Fantastic Four. Jeremy Kramer will oversee it for Fox and the deals are being made now.

Franco and Kinberg collaborated on the upcoming The Hardy Men, which is being set-up to star James and Dave Franco as grown-up versions of The Hardy Boys.
