TAKE SHELTER director Jeff Nichols’ next project is taking shape with a number of familiar faces joining MUD. Along with his SHOTGUN STORIES and TAKE SHELTER star Michael Shannon, Nichols has cast Matthew McConaughey (THE LINCOLN LAWYER), Reese Witherspoon (WATER FOR ELEPHANTS), Sarah Paulson (MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE) Ray Mckinnon (FOOTLOOSE) and Tye SHERIDAN (THE TREE OF LIFE).
Veterans Sam Shepherd (THE NOTEBOOK) and the great Joe Don Baker (WALKING TALL) are also set to star in what the press release states as ‘ a coming-of-age drama centered around two fourteen-year-old boys who encounter a mysterious fugitive hiding out on an island in the Mississippi. Intrigued by this man, they enter into a pact to help him evade capture and reconnect with the love of his life. Though it is hard for the boys to discern truth from fiction when it comes to Mud, it isn’t long until their small Arkansas town is besieged by a beautiful girl with a line of hunters in tow.’

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
