Vacation filmmakers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are reportedly in negotiations to direct the stand-alone movie based around Ezra Miller’s The Flash over at Warner Brothers.
The film is titled Flashpoint and looks set to have a more comedic tone than some of the other stand-alone DC movies because of the duo’s past. As well as directing the Vacation film, the two also have the upcoming Game Night with Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams. They also have writing credits for Horrible Bosses, Spider-Man: Homecoming and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone in their back-catalogue.
Variety initially reported the news of Daley and Goldstein’s potential involvement and, in their original article, state that Ben Affleck was also reportedly offered the gig, but passed.
There’s no timeline for the Flashpoint movie that we can see, but we’ll keep you posted.
