Kevin Smith heart attack

Filmmaker Kevin Smith has reportedly been admitted to hospital following a ‘massive heart attack’ between live shows in Los Angeles. Smith was performing a stand-up show at 6pm local time at the Alex Theater in Glendale, California, and was due to go on stage once again at 9pm, but cancelled the show.

Smith posted an update on his Twitter feed early on Monday morning (shortly after midnight, local time).

The post read:

“After the first show this evening, I had a massive heart attack. The Doctor who saved my life told me I had 100% blockage of my LAD artery (aka “the Widow-Maker”). If I hadn’t canceled show 2 to go to the hospital, I would’ve died tonight. But for now, I’m still above ground!”

Tweets immediately came in showing support for the star and director of films such as Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Mallrats.

Here’s the original tweet:

Actor Chris Pratt was one of those to show his support on the social network.
