Arrested Development To Return To The Big & Small Screen

News has been announced that the superb sitcom Arrested Development is set to return to our television screens. The show, created by Mitch Hurtwiz and produced by Ron Howard (who also featured as the shows narrator), had a cult following even before its cancellation in 2003.

Arrested Development ran for three seasons and followed the exploits of level headed Michael Bluth.  Focusing on his struggle juggling being a father and running his recently jailed father’s business whilst containing the rest of his more outlandish Bluth family members.

The hit show made careers for Michael Cera (SUPERBAD) and Will Arnett (BLADES OF GLORY) as well as resurrecting Jason Bateman’s (HORRIBLE BOSSES, JUNO) acting career into the movie star he is today. The long rumoured movie version of the dysfunctional Bluth family also looks on course with this new mini production of 9-10 episodes being the warm-up for the the big-screen release.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
