Dr. Dre Is Looking To Make a Marvin Gaye Biopic

Music producer, former N.W.A. member, and headphone entrepreneur Dr. Dre is reportedly looking to bring a biopic based on the life of music legend Marvin Gaye to screens. Dre has reportedly secured the rights to Gaye’s music to use on the soundtrack, so reports Variety.

Gaye is famous for songs like “Trouble Man,” “Sexual Healing,” “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” and “Let’s Get It On,” and is widely considered to be one of the best musicians of his generation. He was shot and killed by his own father following a family dispute in 1984.

A film of Gaye’s life has been in development many times before with the likes of F. Gary Gray, Cameron Crowe, James Gandolfini, Scott Rudin, Jesse L. Martin and Lenny Kravitz all reportedly trying to get one off the ground. The trade reports that the story hasn’t been authorised by Gaye’s family until now.

More news om the project as we get it.
