Trailer: Jonah Hill Takes Us Back To The ‘Mid90s’

The premise for Jonah Hill’s directorial debut Mid90s, a film which he also wrote, is simple. It’s the story of a boy growing up in Los Angeles in the 1990s, and the trailer has just dropped..

Here’s the full synopsis:

Jonah Hill’s Mid90s follows Stevie (Sunny Suljic), a 13-year-old boy living in 90s-era LA who spends his summer navigating between his troubled home life and a group of new friends that he meets at a Motor Avenue skate shop.

The cast is made up of Sunny Suljic (The Killing of a Sacred DeerThe House with a Clock in Its Walls), Lucas Hedges (Manchester by the SeaLady Bird), Katherine Waterston (Alien: CovenantFantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) and Jerrod Carmichael (The Carmichael ShowTransformers: The Last Knight).

I really thought that something like this may pop up at an autumn movie festival – particularly TIFF – but so far it’s not on any roster. The film does have a U.S. release set for October 19th, though there is nothing on the cards for the UK as yet. We’ll let you know when that changes. Here’s the first Mid90s trailer.

Oh man, this takes me back.
