Justin Theroux To Star In Disney’s ‘Lady And The Tramp’ Live-Action Redo

Justin Theroux (The Leftovers) has reportedly joined the cast of Disney’s live-action remake of Lady and the Tramp. Collider reports that Theroux is in final negotiations to voice the Tramp, while Disney is still searching for its leading Lady.

Charlie Bean (The LEGO Ninjago Movie) is directing from a script by Andrew Bujalski. The movie, a hybrid of live-action and CGI, will be based on Disney’s 1955 movie of the same name.

The animated classic follows a pampered cocker spaniel named Lady (Barbara Luddy) whose comfortable life slips away once her owners have a baby. When, after some tense circumstances, Lady finds herself on the loose and out on the street, she is befriended and protected by the tough stray mutt Tramp (Larry Roberts). A romance begins to blossom between the two dogs, but their many differences, along with more drama at Lady’s household, threaten to keep them apart.

Extras star Ashley Jensen is also amongst the cast, voicing a Scottish Terrier named Jackie.

Lady and the Tramp will debut on Disney’s upcoming streaming service after it launches in late 2019. More as we get it.
