‘Die Hard 6’ Now Titled ‘McClane’

The sixth film in the Die Hard franchise, a rumoured prequel/ sequel, has a new title. The movie, which will once again feature Bruce Willis in the lead role, will be simply titled McClane, after his New York police officer John McClane. Len Wiseman is directing the film for 20th Century Fox, while  Lorenzo diBonaventura produced.

Speaking to Empire, diBonaventura confirmed the title of the film and updated us with more info on the plot. It seems that Bruce Willis will be involved more than first thought, though the movie will see how McClane became the hardened cop we all know and love through a storyline featuring a younger actor.

“We want you to get invested in John McClane more than ever before. I don’t know how you do Die Hard without Bruce – the idea that he’s not very significant in this movie is not accurate at all. We are gonna explore John McClane in his twenties. But just as prominent is the 60-year-old version.”

The last movie in the series, 2013’s A Good Day To Die Hard, was savaged by the critics, but still managed to score nearly $305 million at the worldwide box-office.
