Bradley Cooper Could Be The Man From “U.N.C.L.E”

Bradley Cooper is currently in talks with Warner Bros. for the role of Napoleon Solo in the upcoming feature film adaptation of the seminal TV series THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E., to be directed by Steven Soderbergh. Cooper was offered the role after George Clooney, Matt Damon and Johnny Depp all declined to fill in Robert Vaughn’s shoes and play the iconic super-spy Solo.

This isn’t the first time U.N.C.L.E has made the leap to the big screen; the sixties saw a wave of theatrical releases of extended U.N.C.L.E episodes, with added sex and violence and screened in colour. Considering the immense impact the show has had on American popular culture, it’s remarkable that it has taken this long for the show to get the CHARLIE’S ANGELS treatment and leap to modern cinemas.

Cooper is currently in the process of filming THE SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK, from which he will progress to Alex Proyas’ PARADISE LOST. Soderbergh recently released the viral disaster movie CONTAGION to highly positive reviews, and is currently shooting MAGIC MIKE with Channing Tatum.

Bradley Cooper will be starring in THE WORDS, alongside Olivia Wilde and Zoe Saldana, to be released in 2012.
