Last night in Los Angeles, the 2019 Oscars were dished out in a lavish ceremony at the Dolby Theater on Hollywood Boulevard. It was a huge night for both Olivia Colman and Rami Malek who picked up Best Actress and Best Actor for The Favourite and Bohemian Rhapsody respectively. The big surprise on the night was Green Book picking up the coveted Best Picture award. Netflix movie Roma was the firm fave on the night, but had to settle for the Best Foreign Language film.
Alfonso Cuaron, the man behind Roma did do alright on the night though. The filmmaker picked by both Best Director and Best Cinematography for the same film.
In the supporting categories, Mahershala Ali beat off all competition to win with Best Supporting Actor for his role in Green Book – his second Oscar, while Regina King scored Best Supporting Actress for her role in the brilliant If Beale Street Could Talk.
