Paul Walker In Talks For District 13 Remake

THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS actor Paul Walker is currently in negotiations to take one of the leads in a English-language remake of the French action hit DISTRICT 13. Although Walker is known for his action-packed roles it is hard to imagine him topping the original’s jaw-dropping spectacular set pieces, brought to life by free-running specialists David Belle and Cyril Rafferelli.

The remake is expected to undergo a title change also, with BRICK MANSIONS the current favoured title. TAKEN director Pierre Morel was helmer of the original, which saw undercover cop Damien team up with an recently released convict Leito in an attempt to recover a stolen nuclear warhead from the slums of a notorious Parisian estate. A sequel entitled DISTRICT 13: ULTIMATUM was released in 2009, both films were co-written by Luc Besson.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
