Ben Kingsley Heads Cast For A Doll’s House

The great Ben Kingsley is set to star in a feature film version of A DOLL’S HOUSE. The film will begin shooting in January and is based on Henrik Ibsen’s play that follows a family’s struggle during a debt crisis and how it impacts on each of there lives.

Jenna Malone (DONNIE DARKO), Michelle Martin (ASSISTING VENUS) and Julian Sands (THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO) will also feature in the tale that has previously been adapted for the big as well as small screen numerous times, most notably a 1973 effort starring Anthony Hopkins.

Writer/director Charles Huddleston has collaborated with his ASSISTING VENUS writer and star Michele Martin in updating the story to a modern day setting, with Huddleston insisting it is as relevant today as it was 130 years ago.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
