Moonstone Entertainment is currently shopping around action thriller project RECALL, which is due to go before the cameras soon. Director Harold Becker is expected to helm although his last two big screen features were the snoozefests MERCURY RISING (1998) and DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE (2001). Clive Owen is attached to headline the film which has the following synopsis:-
A mission gone wrong, a crime covered up… nightmare or reality?
SA specialist and decorated military hero James Forjac’s world is turned upside down by a series of seemingly unrelated events that begin to occur after he meets a sexy photo model in New York hotel room.
Assigned to a highly classified mission to Kyrgyzstan, Forjac continues to see links between his mission, the mysterious model and a crime cover-up.
As he attempts to put the pieces of the puzzle together, Frontjac is confronted by a terrible reality far worse than any nightmare.
A daring rescue and a debt repaid maybe Frontjac only hope to save his future… and past.
There is no doubt Becker has talent, directing James Wood in the brilliant thriller THE ONION FIELD, Al Pacino’s SEA OF LOVE and an all-star cast in 80’s classic TAPS. Having a script by Paul Schrader who was responsible for some superb scripts as TAXI DRIVER, RAGING BULL and BLUE COLLAR, should certainly make this a must see.
