Psychological Thriller ‘Dreamt’ Gets A Director

An announcement today from Safady Entertainment has confirmed that music video supremo Martin Weisz will helm its new psychological thriller DREAMT. The project will centre on two characters that appear to share an unhealthy supernatural connection which blurs the existence of one another through their dreams that in reality becomes a nightmare.

Making a name for himself through his music video work, the German-born director Weisz’ feature film début was the 2006 fact-based thriller GRIMM LOVE, that detailed the cannibalistic killer Oliver Hartwin. The film brought him to the attention of Wes Craven who later hired him for THE HILLS HAVE EYES PART II a year later.

The producers of DREAMT, which is based on a script by Andrew Alexander, commented:-

We’re excited to tell a thrilling, exciting story with an amazing twist to it, the script has all the elements for intrigue and fascination to capture the audience from the opening frame of the film. Andrew has crafted an amazing story in the vain of ‘MEMENTO’ and ‘FIGHT CLUB

We believed that Martin’s visual capabilities, intuition with actors, accompanied by his passion for this project will create an amazing film, Martin has been a great friend of mine and a couple months ago told me I had to read this script, That night I read it three times and said we have to make this movie. Good material and great writing fuel our business. We were lucky to stumble upon a gem!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
