Could This Be Concept Art For Spider-Man Reboot’s Reptilian Villain?

Yesterday an image appeared on THN featuring a first look at Marc Webb’s THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN’s nemesis, albeit in novelty ‘candy’ toy form Pez (see here). Today we have a much more intriguing and actually impressive look (if indeed the image is officially from the movie) at the concept art of how Rhys Ifans villian ‘The Lizard’ will look, that so far we have only barely had a glimpse of in the films teaser trailer.

It seems as if Marc Webb’s upcoming web-slinging reboot has been universally received as a damp-quid, which is a shame considering the talent involved. Andrew Garfield is an actor who has given incredible turns in RED RIDING, BOY A and NEVER LET ME GO and Emma Stone too is a star blossoming into a terrific actress. Maybe the idea fans have to sit through another origin story along with Sam Raimi’s disappointing last effort, has affected the films build-up but hopefully once the film hits cinemas 4th July 2012 we will have another comic-book superhero classic to go with SPIDER-MAN 2, X-MEN 2 and SUPERMAN.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
