5 Movie Casinos That You Can Visit In Real Life

Yes, the casino where they shot Congeniality 2 is real.

Have you been stuck inside your home during quarantine, wanting and needing some escapism? We’re with you. Over the past few days we’ve immersed ourselves into the streaming services to devour some of our favourite movies – something we do every weekend, to be honest – and dipped our toes into a genre we’ve grown to love; the casino movie – and we’re definitely looking forward to the day when we can get on a plane and fly on our to visit Vegas once again. Whilst watching these flicks this weekend, we thought we’d take a look at some of the big casinos featured in movies that do actually exist so here are five movie casinos seen on the big screen that you can visit in real life.

Planet Hollywood Casino

Remember that popular film called 21 from a couple of years back? Well, some of the filming for that movie took place in what is known as the Planet Hollywood Casino, which is still located off the strip in Las Vegas. It’s one of the best casino resorts in Vegas and not only has a lot of gambling to offer, but it has a lot of sights to offer as well. A relatively new casino, Planet Hollywood has been around since 2000, and has also had the likes of Knocked Up and Get Him To The Greek shot there, as well as playing host to big Hollywood premieres for The Transporter 3 and Rambo.

The Venetian

This is just the first casino that you’ll find on the list that was visited by the cast and crew for the Ocean’s 11 shoot. However, there were other non-casino related films shot here; in particular scenes for comedies Miss Congeniality 2 and Rat Race. That being said, it is both the interior and exterior of this casino that make it great. There are plenty of exciting games coupled with an out architectural design that’ll make your jaw hit the floor. Yes, Vegas recreated Venice and there is a sister hotel located on the other side of the world in Macau.

Caesars Palace

If you want the best of the old casinos and the greatest of the new, you need to check out Caesar’s Palace. It’s been around for a while, but its architecture had adapted and evolved over the years to fit in with the new styles while also retaining enough of the older décor to stand out. This one’s been featured in a lot of movies, but it was perhaps The Hangover that really put it on the map in recent. Or, maybe it could have been because the movie was just so popular amongst idnplay fans.

Park MGM

You’ve heard that phrase – ‘what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas’. Well, it was only a matter of time before Hollywood created a cult classic comedy using the title. And, that’s just what they did with their 2008 Ashton Kutcher hit, yep, What Happens In Vegas. This one is about two friends hitting up Vegas, having a wild night, winning an immense jackpot, only to wake up and find they is now married and Jack (Kutcher) will have to split the said jackpot with that new spouse Joy (Cameron Diaz) unless they can make the marriage work. Scenes were filmed at this casino when it was previously known as the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino.

The Bellagio

Perhaps, the most famous and recognized of them all is the Bellagio. You’ll know this hotel and casino because of its huge fountain which is located outside on the strip – reason enough to pack your bags and partake in a week-long excursion. The best prep for your visit will be checking out Ocean’s 11, as it is just one of the many hit Hollywood classics that contribute to its ever-growing popularity. Ocean’s 11 is the ensemble heist caper which features tons of scenes located in the casino. It’s a remake of the famous Rat Pack classic, and just one in a trilogy of films to be led by George Clooney. An all-female spin-off – set in New York rather than Vegas, was released back in
