Take a look at this just-released new short, Brothers, a film directed by Huse Monfaradi, which stars Michael Workeye and Jay Lycurgo. The short is supported by CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably), and the release includes a Q&A conducted by with director Monfaradi, Workeye and Lycurgo. It is all available to watch online having been released earlier today.
Brothers stars Michael Workeye (star of recent TV drama Sitting In Limbo) and Jay Lycurgo (who you may have seen in Michaela Coel’s I May Destroy You) and is inspired by the real life experiences of Michael Workeye and his relationship with his older brother and his mental health issues.
We’re keen to support anything like this, especially during these difficult times. The short helps initiate the conversation about dealing with mental illness within families and those closest to you, an important topic that is rarely touched upon, and particularly current with ongoing lockdowns and an increase in the number of people struggling with their mental health.
You can check out the film right now on the official website.
