I’ve been banging the drum for this movie for a year now, and now finally, audiences can see what all the fuss has been about. Muscle is the latest film from British filmmaker Gerard Johnson (Tony, Hyena). With his third film, he focuses his lends on toxic masculinity, specifically a world revolving around a sweat-covered gym and newbie Simon’s (Cavan Clerkin) baptism of fire into a world of brutish bullies, powder smoothies, a shit-ton of weights, and, erm, all-night orgies.
Craig Fairbrass appears in a career-best performance as Terry, a man-mountain set on blowing Simon’s world apart, and couple of weeks ago, we caught up with the British actor to talk about his part in the film, his second big role of the year following an impressive turn in Villain back in February.
We spoke about gearing up to play Terry, working with both Gerard Johnson and Cavan Clerkin, taking the film on the festival circuit, the career path he now is on, and much more.
Muscle is released in cinemas and on-demand from Friday 4th December. You can read our full review here.
