5 of The Best: London-set Christmas movies

Whilst it may be true that the lead-up to Christmas in London this year isn’t quite the same as usual, we thought what better way than to bring Christmas in London to you with a list of 5 ultimate Christmas feel-good films all available to watch on demand that feature the Christmassy London that we all know and love!

First up on the list is a new contender this year but, note-to-self, this is sure to become your ultimate festive favourite. The Loss Adjuster follows Martin Dyer (Luke Goss), a hapless insurance loss adjuster who, after many years, hits financial hardship, prompting his wife Angie (Kym Marsh) to leave him the week before Christmas and discovers that sometimes you have to lose it all to find out what really matters. Set in London The Loss Adjuster features recognisable spots like Trafalgar Square, The South Bank and Oxford Street. Not one to be missed!

Last year’s festive offering Last Christmas inspired by the music of George Michael, sees Kate (Emilia Clarke) working as a disillusioned elf in a year round Christmas shop meet a mysterious and charming stranger (Henry Golding) and begin an unlikely romance. London in Last Christmas is a character of its own, featuring the Victorian streets of Cecil Court and Covent Garden to the bustle of Brixton Market, Last Christmas is London at its most festive. 

Bridget Jones’s Diary  Complete with Christmas jumpers, turkey curry and kisses in the snow, Bridget Jones is the ultimate unofficial Christmas movie. Everyone’s favourite singleton, Bridget Jones’ romantic misadventures take her from her flat in the heart of London’s Borough Market to the scenic Cotswolds. 

Love Actually – Richard Curtis’ modern Christmas classic Love Actually follows eight different couples in the run up to Christmas across London. From a romance between a newly elected prime minster (Hugh Grant) and a junior member of staff (Martine McCutcheon) in Number 10 to that iconic placard scene set in a Notting Hill mews, there is no Love Actually without London. 

And lastly, yes this film may not be set in London but it’s just too hard to resist.The Holiday, this festive romantic comedy where Amanda (Cameron Diaz) and Iris (Kate Winslet) swap home for Christmas is split between LA and a quintessentially British cottage in Surrey. Inspired by Surrey’s very own Honeysuckle Cottage, in Holmbury St Mary, The Holiday is sure to have viewers desperate for a cosy Christmas in the English countryside.
