The UK and Irish release date has been set for an intriguing upcoming documentary titled The Dissident. The film will be distributed by Altitude in the UK and comes to the screen from filmmaker Bryan Fogal, the man behind the Oscar-winning Icarus which can still be viewed on Netflix. The Dissident examines the murder of Jamal Khashoggi and will arrive on our screens on 5th March.
The feature is described as a documentary thriller that plays out at the highest levels of power as it exposes the labyrinth of deceit behind Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi’s murder in the Saudi Embassy in Istanbul. Offering a wealth of never-before-seen footage and unprecedented access to those closest to the story, the film is a story of money, tyranny, and technology run amok.
I’m looking forward to this as I loved the brilliant Icarus from a few years back. If you haven’t seen it, I urge you to do so as soon as you can. There’s no UK trailer as yet, but we’ll update you as soon as possible. More as we get it.
