‘Wonder Woman’ director Patty Jenkins set to helm ‘Rogue Squadron’ Star Wars movie

Huge news.

Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman 1984 filmmaker Patty Jenkins is set to become the first female feature-length Star Wars movie director. Jenkins has confirmed that she will take charge of a new film titled Rogue Squadron, a movie that will revolve around the legendary X-wing fighter pilots from the previous movies.

Rogue Squadron will be the next feature-length Star Wars movie to debut in cinemas with Disney and Lucasfilm currently looking at a Christmas Day 2023 release. Here’s the announcement that Jenkins made on Twitter late Thursday.

Rogue Squadron is just one of a number of projects in the pipeline at the studio. Disney and Lucasfilm previously announced that Taika Waititi also has a feature in development, but its ETA is as yet unknown. More as we get it.
