Trailer and poster for ‘French Exit’ – Michelle Pfeiffer and Lucas Hedges lead the cast

Coming to cinemas in February 2021.

The very first trailer and poster for the Michelle Pfeiffer and Lucas Hedges-led film French Exit has been released by Sony Pictures. Valerie Mahaffey, Imogen Poots, Susan Coyne, Danielle Macdonald, Isaach De Bankolé, Daniel Di Tomasso, and Tracy Letts also star in the film which is directed by Azazel Jacobs from a screenplay by Patrick DeWitt. I’m a huge fan of Pfeiffer and Hedges, but also the superb Letts who always brings his A-game to a role. More on the movie below.

“My plan was to die before the money ran out,” says 60-year-old penniless Manhattan socialite Frances Price (Michelle Pfeiffer), but things didn’t go as planned. Her husband Franklin has been dead for 12 years and with his vast inheritance gone, she cashes in the last of her possessions and resolves to live out her twilight days anonymously in a borrowed apartment in Paris, accompanied by her directionless son Malcolm (Lucas Hedges) and a cat named Small Frank—who may or may not embody the spirit of Frances’s dead husband.

We reviewed the film at a festival earlier this year, calling it a ‘handsomely shot and designed piece of work with flashes of brilliance throughout’. The movie will go on general release in February. Catch the trailer, and check out the official poster below.
