Here’s a treat as we head towards the end of the week, and indeed into Christmas week, the first look at Eddie Murphy and the rest of the cast of Coming 2 America, the sequel to the 1980s classic. Craig Brewer directs the sequel which will be heading to Amazon Prime Video in March of 2021. Arsenio Hall, Jermaine Fowler, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan, KiKi Layne, Shari Headley, Wesley Snipes, and James Earl Jones line-up the cast, alongside John Amos, Teyana Taylor, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Paul Bates, Nomzamo Mbatha, and Bella Murphy. The screenplay is by Kenya Barris and Barry W. Blaustein & David Sheffield from a story by Barry W. Blaustein & David Sheffield and Justin Kanew.
Set in the lush and royal country of Zamunda, newly-crowned King Akeem (Eddie Murphy) and his trusted confidante Semmi (Arsenio Hall) embark on an all-new hilarious adventure that has them traversing the globe from their great African nation to the borough of Queens, New York – where it all began.
