Trailer for Abel Ferrara film ‘Siberia’ with Willem Dafoe

The film first premiered at the 2020 Berlinale.

Here’s another new trailer for the upcoming Abel Ferrara movie Siberia, a film that reunites him with Willem Dafoe. This one premiered at last year’s Berlinale to mixed reviews. I fell into the half that wasn’t too enamoured with the film – it really is a little out there and won’t suit everyone’s tastes, but Dafoe is excellent as always.

This is a new U.S. version of the trailer where the film can be rented June 18, and then picked up on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital June 22, all though Lionsgate.

Here’s the synopsis:

Clint (Dafoe) tends bar at a snowbound roadhouse whose patrons speak a language he doesn’t understand, and things may not be what they seem. Desperate for answers, he drives a sled team to a nearby cave, but finds no peace. Are the spirits that confront him mere figments of his imagination — or will they slowly tear his body and soul to pieces?

This is the sixth time that Dafoe and Ferrara have collaborated, following works including 4:44 – Last Day on Earth, Pasolini, and Tomasso.

I can’t see any visibility of a UK release as yet, but we’ll keep you posted.

Check out the trailer below.
