Ringo Lam’s Hong Kong crime thriller ‘Wild Search’ coming to Blu-ray for the first time

The film was originally released back in 1989.

Here’s some news of a classic action thriller winging its way to Blu-ray in the coming weeks. The film is Ringo Lam’s Wild Search starring Chow Yun-Fat and Cherie Chung, which is a loose remake of Peter Weir’s Witness. I’ve not seen the film, but Lam is responsible for the superb City On Fire, a huge inspiration to Quentin Tarantino’s work. Wild Search was originally released back in 1989 but will come to the HD home format for the first time in July through Eureka!

Yun-fat plays Lau, a widowed police officer investigating a gang of gun runners. When a shootout with the criminals leaves a woman dead, and her daughter the only surviving witness, Lau must protect the young girl from the ruthless gang that wants her dead.

We have a trailer for the film (see below) as well as the planned bonus materials. The date of the release is 19th July.
