There can be only one. Henry Cavill, star of Man Of Steel and The Witcher, is reportedly set to lead the cast of a planned Highlander reboot over at Lionsgate. Chad Stahelski is directing the project for the studio, while Kerry Williamson wrote the screenplay.
Highlander revolves around immortals who can only be killed by beheading. The 1986 original saw Christopher Lambert playing one such immortal, Connor MacLeod, who faces off against his greatest advisory, the Kurgan (Clancy Brown) in New York City.
There are no specific details on who Cavill will play in the new movie – whether it is a new character or one we’ve already seen in the original movie, the various sequels, or TV spin-offs. There are reportedly, however, two main leading roles in the movie.
Also no idea on precise shooting dates, but we’ll keep you posted.
