Well, here is some awesome news; the Marvel Studios Blade movie now has its director, and it is none other than Mogul Mowgli filmmaker Bassam Tariq. Mahershala Ali will play the title role in the movie, the infamous vampire hunter Blade previously played by Wesley Snipes in movies past.
Deadline reports the news, though adds that a deal is not yet 100% done, sources have told the trade that Tariq will step behind the camera for the massive project.
Mogul Mowgli, which bowed at the Berlinale last year, starred Riz Ahmed as a rapper diagnosed with a degenerative autoimmune disease on the eve of his first world tour. It was one half of a dynamite one-two punch from Ahmed, the other being the Oscar-nominated Sound Of Metal.
