Some casting news now and Deadline is reporting that Channing Tatum is set to star in a remake of the German film System Crasher. The project is being set up at MGM where the actor just house his latest effort, Dog, which he also co-directed.
Free Association will make the film, along with The Picture Company, so reports the trade, with Tatum among the producers. Garret Levitz is writing the English-language version of the film. The original movie, which debuted at the Berlinale in 2019, starred Helena Zengel as Bernadette ‘Benni’ Klaaß, a nine year old girl whose untamed energy drives everyone around her to despair.
The film wowed audiences and gained pretty decent acclaim following that debut in Berlin. Nora Fingscheidt, who wrote the original movie, will be executive producer on the new feature.
Tatum can currently be seen in Dog, and also has The Lost City with Sandra Bullock on the horizon. There’s also a third ‘Magic Mike’ movie coming, with the star reprising his role as the title character, and directing.
