Now playing to delighted audiences on Prime Video is Reacher, a TV series based on the popular Lee Child book series, based around the character of Jack Reacher. The first run has been received very well indeed by audiences, so much so that a second season has already been ordered by the streamer. The big question now, though, is which Jack Reacher book will season two of Reacher be based upon. After all, there are som many (currently 26) to choose from.
Well, the showrunner on the hit series has been speaking with TV Line about that very subject, and, after settling on the very first novel for season one – ‘KIlling Floor’,- they may go for the second series. Or maybe not.
Nick Santora said that they might adapt the second book ‘Die Trying’, but they are keeping their options open. He told the outlet: “It’s tough. There are 26 [Jack Reacher] books, and then there are short-story anthologies…. And there’s so much thought that has to go into our decision. Do we want it to be similar to Season 1, because Season 1 was successful? Do we want to go a little different?”
Santoro continued: “I will say this: Don’t assume we’re going chronologically and don’t assume we’re not going chronologically. Because [at this moment] we legitimately don’t know.”
Season one was released this past month and we’re assuming that they’ll kick the new one into development quite quickly.
