Some news once again from the big CinemaCon presentation in Las Vegas, this time from the Lionsgate stable who say that a sequel to the classic romantic dance movie Dirty Dancing is coming to the screen, some 35 years after the original. What’s more, one of its stars Jennifer Grey is returning to the role of Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman.
The news is reported by EW who say that a voiceover was heard during the presentation saying: “Jennifer Grey returns to Kellerman’s in the next chapter.” This was heard over original footage from the 1987 movie which also starred the late, great Patrick Swayze.
Of course, there was a sequel, released in 2004 titled Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, but the less said about that one the better. We have no further news on this other than we are planning on reporting every little tidbit of information in regards to the movie between now and release.
