Andrew Garfield is reportedly set to play Richard Branson in a six-part new TV series to be directed by David Leitch. The project is set up at Universal International Studios and multiple major platforms are interested in snapping it up, so reports Deadline.
According to the trade, Paddington 2 scribe Jon Croker is writing the screenplay for the planned limited series, which is to be based on the book ‘Dirty Tricks’ by Martyn Gregory.
Titled Hot Air, the series will focus upon the rise of Branson’s airline Virgin Airways and its rivalry with British Airways.
Garfield can be seen in TV series Under the Banner of Heaven for which he was just nominated for an Emmy.
Leitch’s next project is the big Brad Pitt summer release Bullet Train over at Sony.
