A new trailer has dropped today for the new Netflix film The Pale Blue Eye. Scott Cooper wrote the screenplay for the film and directed the epic for the streamer, which will be released in select cinemas December 23 and on Netflix January 6.
Also among the cast is Harry Melling (Edgar Allan Poe), Gillian Anderson (Mrs. Julia Marquis), Lucy Boynton (Lea Marquis), Charlotte Gainsbourg (Patsy), Toby Jones (Dr. Daniel Marquis), Harry Lawtey (Artemus Marquis), Simon McBurney (Captain Hitchcock), Timothy Spall (Supt. Thayer), and Robert Duvall (Jean-Pepe).
The synopsis is as follows.
West Point, 1830. A world-weary detective is hired to discreetly investigate the gruesome murder of a cadet. Stymied by the cadets’ code of silence, he enlists one of their own to help unravel the case of a young man the world would come to know as Edgar Allan Poe.
