The sequel to the hit 1990s disaster movie Twister has got itself a release date. According to Deadline, the film will hit the big screen, in the US at least, on 19th July 2024.
Lee Isaac Chung, who directed the superb Minari, is set to helm the film – or is in early talks, at least – with the project set up at Amblin Entertainment and Universal Pictures.
Mark L. Smith (The Revenant) wrote the screenplay for the film, which is presently titled Twisters.
The story will reportedly follow the daughter of Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton’s characters who has also got the bug for chasing storms in rural America. Hunt’s character Dr. Jo Harding is also reportedly set for a return.
