New trailer for ‘Blue Jean’, Georgia Oakley’s applauded debut film set for a February release

Altitude has released a new UK trailer for Georgia Oakley’s debut film, Blue Jean. Been hearing some great things about this film from the festival circuit and I cannot wait to see it when it finally arrives in cinemas next month.

Rosy McEwen, Kerrie Hayes, Lucy Halliday, and Lydia Page lead the cast of this one.

Here’s the story.

BLUE JEAN is set in England, 1988 – Margaret Thatcher’s Conservative government are about to pass a law stigmatising gays and lesbians, forcing Jean, a PE teacher, to live a double life. As pressure mounts from all sides, the arrival of a new girl at school catalyses a crisis that will challenge Jean to her core.

BIFA Best Lead Performance winner Rosy McEwen plays Jean alongside BIFA Best Supporting Performance winner Kerrie Hayes and newcomer Lucy Halliday as Lois.

In addition to Lead and Supporting Performance, also won Best Debut Screenwriter for Oakley and Best Casting for Shaheen Baig at BIFA and has received further acclaim at multiple festivals across Europe including the People’s Choice Award in the Giornate degli Autori at the Venice Film Festival.

The film will land in cinemas in the UK from 10th February.

Here’s the new trailer.
