Disney has announced a return to developing sequels and follow-ups to the likes of Frozen, Zootropolis (Zootopia), and Toy Story are on the way. The news was announced on an earning call with CEO Bob Iger.
Iger said: “Today I’m so pleased to announce that we have sequels in the works from our animation studios to some of our most popular franchises, ‘Toy Story,’ ‘Frozen’ and ‘Zootopia’.”
“We’ll have more to share about these productions soon, but this is a great example of how we’re leaning into our unrivalled brands and franchises.”
Zootropolis will get its first sequel, while the new movies will be the third in the Frozen series and the fifth in the Toy Story franchise.
Not much more is known at the moment, but we’ll keep you posted.
